My idea for the Still Image product is to create an image where an individual expresses emotions. want the individual in my picture to show emotions of sadness and loneliness, in order for my image to create a great impact with its viewers. To properly show raw human emotion, I plan to play music that causes the individual to become sad such as 'Cold' by Jorge Mendez for 5 minutes. 'Cold' by Jorge Mendez is a piano and violin instrumental music. Furthermore, by having the room where the picture is taken being dark while the music is playing, then turning the light on, it will cause the individual senses to become enhanced. As the sense of sight is taken away, the individuals other senses will work better, allowing the individual to express the emotions of sadness more clearly.
Inspiration:
My inspiration for this idea came from one of the works of the photography artist, Bettina von Zwehl. Bettina von Zwehl born in Munich on 1971, is a photographer that is known for her subtle and distinctive photographic portraits.
The work that inspired me is the dark room works, where Bettina von Zwehl takes pictures of an individual in a dark room with their arms crossed and sitting in the same position listening to music for 10 minutes. She does this in order to capture the individuals feelings at the time. I decided to do the same as Zwehl as her technique captures emotion properly through the use of different types of music.
