Role Requirements:
- Actor: Perform the scene, learn the lines the best you can but can keep script with you if needed.
- Director: Direct the actors performance and blocking, decide the shot list with the DoP.
- 1st Assistant Director: In charge of the set, checks for health and safety issues, keeps the shoot on schedule. Allocate the amount of time for each shot.
- Director of Photography: Decides the shot list with the director, tells camera team how to set up the camera, decides the lighting and tells the Gaffer and Sparks how to set up the lights.
- Camera Assistant: Sets the camera settings, sets marks for the actors, adjusts focus in shot, makes sure camera has battery/card space, does the Slate.
- Gaffer: In charge of lighting (Practically not artistically) Sets up lights to achieve the DoPs vision.
- Spark: Helps the Gaffer Set up lights
- Production Designer: Designs the set, costumes, props etc.
- Sound Recordist/Boom Op: Monitor the sound levels on camera, operates the boom pole to follow the dialogue.
- 1st AD “Going for a take positions please and quiet on set”
- 1st AD “Roll Camera” (usually would do sound first but we are recording sound in camera)
- Camera Operator “Camera Speed”
- Camera Assistant “Slate 1 Take 4” Claps the slate and moves out of the way.
- Camera Operator: “Camera Set”
- 1st AD or Director “Action”
- Only the Director can call “Cut” Unless the camera stops for some reason.
- The 1st Ad will then check if everyone was happy or do we need to go again.
