My initial idea for the Physical Computing project is to create a Green Lantern Lamp. My inspiration for this idea came from the DC Comic character Green Lantern's 'power battery'.

Background Research:
Green Lantern is one of several superheroes that is created
and published by DC Comics. Green Lantern or Hal Jordan is a superhero that is shown to fight
evil with the help of a ring that grants him a variety of powers. Hal Jordan is a human who is apart of an intergalactic police force which is known as the 'Green Lantern Corps,' he is also one of the founding members of the Justice League who are the protectors of Earth.
The Green Lantern Power Batteries were created by the
immortal Guardians of the Universe during the time that they sought to impose
order on a chaotic cosmos. The Power Battery served as a charger for the Green
Lantern Corps Power Rings, which their member needs to gain access to the rings
powers.

Material Research:
The materials needed for the Green Lantern Lamp can be the same as the ones needed for normal everyday lamps. The materials are ceramic, glass and metal, the metal for the lamp can be any metal however, usually brass is used in most lamps. The main colour theme for the lamp is green as it represents the character Green Lantern. Other parts needed is the arduino board kit, light bulb and a switch.
